WE ARE LOOKING FOR A STATION IT SUPPORT MANAGER!

General Accountabilities:

The Information and Technology Division is currently seeking a motivated, self-starter for the role of Station IT Support Manager within the IT Solutions department. This position is for an experienced, highly motivated individual who will oversee and manage the Station IT Support section. You will have a strong technical background, ideally in an application development or system support background that will allow you to identify and recommend innovative IT solutions that support station business requirements.

Key Responsibilities:


Identifies and recommends innovative IT solutions that support station business requirements and facilitates solution alignment between the stations

Builds strong and trusted relationships with key stakeholders in the stations

Ensures alignment to support station focused activities while working within the IT organization

Member of the station management teams who attends all appropriate station management meetings

Champions IT in the stations

Work closely with users and other analysts to identify application opportunities and provide business systems and technical expertise

Work closely with external partners and other IT sections to provide reliable application services

Work closely with our internal business units to create and strengthen internal partnerships and communities of practice.

Provides oversight and manages small enhancements and solution development ensuring IT governance and standards are adhered to

Works with IT manager peers to coordinate and plan required support centre IT technical support to enable the Station IT support section

Provides oversight and guides information provisioning using standard IT tools (data mining and reporting)

Provides oversight and coordinates IT ticket resolution

Contributes to the development and growth of a Nuclear Safety Culture by communicating the Nuclear Safety message, setting the example for nuclear safety and demonstrating this commitment through actions and words

Manage the section in accordance with applicable legislation, policies, programs, procedures and agreements

Develops and manages the work program of the section, ensuring that work is planned, scheduled and priorities are understood

Monitors performance and takes action to correct any adverse trends

Make recommendations on strategy, policies, compliance and communications



Skills and Knowledge:


Assists IT analysts by coaching, mentoring and when required provides hands on technical assistance

Communicates IT and station activities

Facilitates the alignment of solutions across site

Develops and implement standards, procedures and processes for the station IT support section.

Provides oversight and manages the daily activities of the Station IT support section

Maintains knowledge of developments in the areas of systems and hardware technologies and makes recommendations for incorporating these new developments into the future needs of the company



Education and Experience:


Completion of a University degree in computer science or an equivalent degree with appropriate level of experience

8-10 years in an IT related role is considered necessary to gain this experience.

Proven ability to establish excellent working relationships with both internal and external contacts at all levels.

Ability to interpret and translate complex technical information into terms understandable by the leadership team

Excellent organizational and planning, time management and project management abilities

Proven ability to meet deadlines with grace under pressure

Proven leadership and managerial skills

Excellent knowledge of English " oral and written, necessary to provide effective instructions, technical advice, presentations and preparation for various types of reports pertinent to the work being performed

Strong client focus

Understanding of a broad set of IT technologies

Requires sound business knowledge, extensive IT technology , systems analysis and design exposure in a dynamic and fast paced environment

Ability to work effectively with managers in other functional areas and participate in problem solving processes.

Microsoft Certified

Database Analyst qualifications

ITIL

Project Management Professional (PMP)
