The Surface Solutions team is at the bleeding edge of developing user-facing experiences on the Surface Platform. Our products will help change the way people interact with technology, blur the lines between the physical and virtual worlds, and make computing interaction richer, faster, and more enjoyable.

Our team serves the Enterprise and Commercial segment of the Surface business. Key verticals for FY09 are Hospitality, Retail, Leisure, Healthcare and Automotive. We are responsible for designing and developing solutions that enable scenarios such as purchasing media, comparing services, ordering products, advertising, and finding information. Our customers and partners range from business decision makers to developers to system integrators. End users, too, must be delighted.

You should be ready to work in a fast-paced environment in which everyone takes ownership of the end-to-end solution, and possess a strong desire to deliver an awesome user experience. In this position you will be working on small projects simultaneously and will own the projects from conception to design. You will be responsible for feature lists, schedules, allocation of resources and risk management. These projects will be UI Customer facing for Surface in the commercial space.

Responsibilities:
Lead multi-functional team(s) to design and develop solutions that address key business needs.
Work closely with Product Management together requirements, develop scenarios, and build high-level and detailed -level feature lists.
Work closely with UX leads to determine solution design - from brainstorming to reviewing and revising design doc.
Write clear, concise feature specs. Update specs regularly to reflect user-testing and team feedback.
Work with Dev and Test to ensure that solutions meet experience, quality, performance, security, reliability, and manageability requirements.
Work with Dev and Test to ensure that team processes and procedures conform to engineering best practices.
Manage project schedule, milestones, task lists, dependencies and hand-offs. Communicate risks and changes regularly. Deliver solution on time, within budget.
Act as team leader in driving for consensuses and resolving issues. Escalate issues when necessary.
Ensure that the flow of information between team and all stakeholders is clear and consistent by providing regular reports, driving regular meetings, etc.

Qualifications:
Demonstrated ability to write, speak and present information effectively and persuasively across disciplines, and within diverse communication settings.
Strong instincts for innovative application development, and the ability to influence designs and specifications accordingly.
Superior interpersonal and diplomatic skills for successful relationship-building, effectively engaging and influencing others, and driving teams to success.
Proven ability to simultaneously address multiple projects, responsibilities and challenges.
Demonstrated ability to quickly and successfully come up-to-speed on technical challenges and innovations.
Proven facilitation and leadership experience to achieve win-win outcomes to advance solutions and solve problems.
Possess standard PM qualifications: excellence in project management; solid focus on team and collaboration; self-motivated; detail-oriented; and creative.
Extra attention will be given to candidates with experience developing for touch-based technologies.
4-6 years related experience required, including full product lifecycle experience.
Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
