The Mobile Engineering Services and Excellence team is looking for a Group Program Manager to drive process improvement, services and support operation in the Mobile Communications Platform Group. The Group Program Manager will manage a team of PMs who actively work together with dev, test and operation disciplines in driving multiple moderate to complex projects. This includes working with process owners to identify the root cause of problems and utilizing problem solving skills and tools including "As Is" process mapping, thorough root cause analysis, best practices and procedures, Stakeholder analysis, risk assessment to design and implement optimal solutions.

We're looking for a talented GPM to help build compelling engineering solutions and services for the Mobile space, but also our external customers and across Microsoft. Come be part of building that vision and business with us.

Primary responsibilities include:

Evangelize and Collaborate
Successful cross group collaboration across Microsoft. Understanding of how to get things done through influence and collaboration.
Passion for driving for results and problem solving.
Interpersonal savvy, negotiation and problem solving skills to work through issues and conflicts diplomatically. Personal integrity and honesty and an open communication style.

Project Planning & Execution
Work with Product group to understand and capture requirements and expectations on critical project goals and success factors across the division.
Build and drive the overall project schedule in collaboration with key stakeholders across different groups
Track status of all impacting projects in the organization, and provide project visibility to management in a common and consistent manner.
Track schedule and scope variances and provide feedback/recommendation to stakeholders and management to resolve project prioritization, resource contention and other project issues
Communicate project status, progress and risks to all stakeholders
Actively participation in global triage and status meetings and of impacting projects to provide input and guidance

Project management Processes, Tools, and Methodology
Apply SDLC methodology in system and new tool designs
Capture customer requirements
Create Feature Spec and support Dev/test team in functional spec and test strategy
Define milestone and exit criteria for the highest quality performance

Qualifications and requirements include:
8+ years of related experience
Bachelors degree in one of Commerce, Science, Computer Science or related disciplines (and preferably an MBA)
Exceptional people management and leadership skills
Incredible passion for customers, Engineering Excellence and business partner satisfaction.
Outstanding process definition skills, in addition to excellent communication, problem solving, and project management skills.
Outstanding organization skills and exceptional organizational agility
Process-orientation with attention to detail
Must have ability to independently exercise sound judgment and decision-making
Experience in operation and service organization with primary focus on customers
Thorough knowledge of the product development, test, release and processes, must have gone through at least one product release cycle
