The Embedded Windows Team within E&D is part of the SDA (Specialized Devices and Applications) Group. We deliver componentized versions of the Windows client OS to enable solutions for a wide range of embedded markets along with developer tools and embedded specific OS features. The software is used in products ranging from Thin Clients and Point-of-Sale systems to Kiosks, Medical Equipment, Gaming systems, Multi-function Printers, and more.

As part of our high performance PM team, you will have the unique and exciting opportunity to impact and shape the Embedded Windows business both in our daily operations as well as our long term plans. We are looking for exceptional PMs to add to our team who can span technically from internal operating system technologies to user and developer experience.

Specifically we are looking for people who can accomplish the following with passion and commitment:

-Own specifications and program management of feature areas in Embedded OS releases based on the Windows Client OS and other Microsoft technologies
-Have a sound technical understanding of OS features and scenarios, to define the scope of work in adapting the client OS for Embedded needs.
- Have a demonstrated history of distributed solution and communication methods, especially around web services
- Have the ability to design abstract and generic scenarios and translate them into real life specifications and technologies
-Lookout for exciting additional technologies and scenarios that would be valuable to the embedded space and devise plans to incorporate them in future releases.
-Work closely with the developers and testers to ensure that specifications are well-defined, problems are scoped and resolved clearly. Serve as a customer advocate in the spec definition process.
-Work closely feature teams across the company to evangelize Embedded OS requirements and drive for Embedded readiness in current and future releases.
-Have a demonstrated track-record of strong and effective problem solving and negotiation skills
-Have the ability to multi-task and effectively manage concurrent initiatives.

Qualifications:
-Prior experience as Program Manager with sound technical skills and a minimum of 3 years of experience.
- Track record of previously designed distributed solutions involving web services is desirable
-Technical ability to understand complex features in the operating system and user scenarios
-Ability to understand and articulate technical details clearly to feature teams and customers
-Strong problem solving, collaboration and negotiation skills
- Experience in the embedded space is desirable
