Description:

The Analyst/Programmer is responsible for analysis, design, creation, testing, documentation, implementation and maintenance of computer software. This includes project leadership responsibilities. The Analyst/Programmer is also responsible for the completion of various business tasks as assigned by the Information Systems (I/S) department manager.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Design, write, test and document computer programs, subroutines, and scripts to meet project objectives
Analyze requirements for new and existing computer systems
Maintain existing computer programs
Resolve production computer system problems (24 hours per day)
Act as a mentor to new employees
Re-engineer business functions by evaluating requests for service, questioning existing policies, procedures, workflows, etc., to ensure that the best systems are identified and implemented
As a project leader, the Analyst/Programmer is responsible for creating and carrying out the project plan

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent technical experience is required.
Four (4) to six (6) years programming experience required
Four (4) years Java programming experience required
Three (3) years experience with at least two of the following Java /J2EE technologies: JSP, Servlet, EJB, JDBC
Experience with any of the following is considered a plus: Web Services, JMS (or MQ), WebSphere Application Server, DB2 (or other RDBMS), AIX (UNIX), XML, log 4J.
Proficient knowledge of the System Development Life Cycle
Demonstrated proficiency in written and oral communication skills is required.
Attention to detail and strong logical reasoning ability required.
