A solution that frees people to experience activities and content in a more natural way? When was the last time you worked on a product that sparked the imagination and got you truly excited? If you want to be inspired again, consider joining the Microsoft Surface team ( [link removed] http:// [link removed] ). The Surface team is looking for an exceptional Senior Interaction Designer to join our Interaction Design team (part of a larger multi-disciplinary User Experience team) to drive design for areas of this groundbreaking product. You will be at the forefront of design activities such as defining the gestures people will use, defining the user interface for the core platform, and establishing interaction & UI guidelines that others both inside and outside of the team will follow. As a software-focused Senior Interaction Designer, you will engage in cross-team collaboration with the best of user research, visual design, user assistance, industrial design, product planning, program management, test, and development from the early stages of feature planning through implementation and release. Ultimately, however, the key requirement is knowing and applying user-centered philosophies and best practices toward processes, tools, and solutions that are useful, usable, desirable and inspiring. The candidate must demonstrate an ability to both design and lead design work with a high standard for quality within aggressively scheduled projects. You will join a strong design team, working closely with an extremely talented user research, visual design, industrial design, and writing staff. Your high-quality deliverables include information architectures, task-flow diagrams (or other models), user-experience goals and scenarios, storyboards, wireframes, design concepts, interactive prototypes, design specifications, and design guidelines. Your success will be measured by design quality (useful, usable, desirable, inspiring & brand aligned), design continuity within and across solutions, and design leadership. This is an opportunity to work on the first version of a new-to-the-world, game-changing product. Join a product team that's making history. Qualifications: A BA/BS or higher degree in Interaction Design or related discipline (Graphic Design, Industrial Design, Communication Arts, Animation/Film Production etc.) or equivalent experience.
