Position Description
Lead the Future Combat Systems (FCS) Lead System Integrators (LSI) Software Horizontal Integration Team. The team is responsible for the coordination with Systems and Software suppliers to ensure interfaces are correctly flowed and decomposed into supplier specifications, and with hardware/software integrators within the LSI to ensure the interfaces are correctly implemented. Scope of interface definition includes over 30 software partners building millions of lines of code to reside in ~20 different platforms. Candidate will need to work with the customer, other IPT software engineering teams, and software development partners to horizontally and vertically integrate the systems and software interfaces. The responsibilities will include: prioritization of team activities, maintaining and providing team performance status in management and system/software engineering discussions and major reviews, coordinating team activities, tracking/resolving technical issues to ensure proper interface definition, performing risk management, and managing cost and schedule performance. Provide leadership and guidance on software interfaces to the full FCS LSI Team. Represent Software Distributed System Integration (SDSI) in the FCS SCCB Interface and Data Pre Board. Systems and software engineering experience in the specification, interface definition, design, implementation, integration and verification of complex software-intensive systems are required. Candidate must have the ability to: work with senior management, military customers, and stakeholders at all levels in the organization. Candidate must also be able to lead a large software development team (including suppliers throughout the US). The candidate must also work well in a large teaming environment; manage multiple and competing priorities; and delegate effectively. Experience with military customers is a plus. The candidate must also have significant experience with policies and procedures; technical software subcontract management; project management; large defense software development projects; schedule management; and earned value systems. Excellent written and oral communication skills are required. Must combine strong organizational and analytical problem solving skills with the ability to see the broad picture in a given business situation. Candidates must possess strong leadership and team building skills, as well as the ability to work independently. Candidate must possess excellent communication, effective verbal and presentation skills and be comfortable statusing difficult issues to senior level Boeing or Subcontractor management. Candidate must possess decision-making and problem solving capability and business competency. Experience in IPT programs (particularly geographically separated teams) is highly desirable. SECRET clearance required, an active TOP SECRET clearance is desired. Top Secret required post-start. Moderate travel is anticipated; US Citizenship required.

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
