Description:

Provides analytical and technical support for small project development or maintenance efforts. Creates and updates technical project documentation throughout the system development lifecycle.

Development: Works with more senior developers to define technical scope, requirements, business and technical designs. Codes from detailed specifications, tests and validates output of programs.

Maintenance: Responsible for resolution of all production outages for the assigned applications, utilizing situation management processes. Implements operational improvements, automation to reduce costs, system decommissioning and system replacements. Provides support for Disaster recovery planning and hotsite testing.

Position Dimensions/Scope:
Working knowledge of assigned system applications or technologies. Provides accurate estimates of effort to design, code, test and implement technical project components. Works to support goals of team, willingly shares knowledge and skills, occasionally mentors less senior developers. Understands when and how to escalate issues. Communicates professionally to team members, external vendors, other I/S personnel, and clients. Effectively manages time to carry stretch workloads. Completes all assigned tasks on time and within budget and quality standards. Contributes to the definition of best practices and standards for assigned applications. Lives corporate values and operating principles and coaches other team members where exhibited behavior is in conflict with values.

Development: Responsible for delivery of design, code or testing for one or more programs or functions and may be assigned to multiple efforts, usually concentrated within a group of related applications.

Maintenance: Responsible for the maintenance of one or more applications with a focus on resolving production outages, completion of root cause analysis and improving stability and performance of the application portfolio.

Principal Functional Responsibilities:

Development: Develops code, unit tests, documents and supports the implementation of assigned functions or program modules.

Maintenance: Resolves production outages for one or more applications utilizing situation management processes, conducting root cause analysis, focusing on implementation of permanent change to stabilize and improve system performance.

Development: Creates business and/or technical designs for new systems or modifications to existing systems.

Maintenance: Provides accurate and timely estimates for First Year support, meets service levels for support of application, provides support for disaster recovery planning and hot site testing.

Development: Defines technical scope and project assumptions. Analyzes and documents user requirements.

Maintenance: Implements operational and system improvements, automation to reduce processing costs, system decommissioning and system replacements.

Acquires and maintains knowledge of current standards, policies and procedures and audit requirements. Communicates with clients, external vendors, I/S personnel, and team members as required. Fulfills administrative requirement, including documentation.

Maintains and develops technical skills to keep current in systems programming and analysis techniques and assigned applications or technologies

Education
Knowledge is normally acquired by completion of 4 years of college resulting in a bachelor's degree or equivalent and may require special certification (please list certifications below).

Experience
One year and up to three years.
Knowledge of and the ability to utilize current computer systems analysis, design and implementation techniques and methodologies.

Professional Expertise
One to three years experience in a comparable systems environment with exposure of the following: structured or object oriented programming, systems analysis techniques, interactive programming procedures, job or process control languages, access methods or database concepts, documentation standards and procedures, batch and on-line concepts, and various PC or distributed software. Ability to work with PCs, Servers, Emulation software, Outlook, MS Word, Excel, Power Point and Adobe Acrobat. Good oral and written communication skills. Position requires: in-depth skills in a complex or technically specialized area, troubleshooting problems, good interpersonal skills, interpretation of the user's needs, creation and delivery of presentations and/or responding to detailed technical inquiries by an audience not knowledgeable in the subject area. Work duties are very complex, requiring judgement in problem identification/problem solving and the analysis of test results.

SPECIAL SKILLS, TRAINING, OR EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Provide focus on resource tools (OPUS
US & Staffing Model), resource forecasting, and performance reporting for the CDS Field Services
organization. Develops and maintains the various production and ad-hoc Cognos reporting for the
department. Normal business hours with limited overtime
Provide reports for resource forecasting reviews with CDS leadership.
Prepare resource planning summaries for the CDS leadership Team and presentations. Could be Cognos
reports, spreadsheets, graphs or Power Point.
Monitor and/or load data into the resource planning tools to meet CDS requirements. Validate completeness.
Prioritize and implement ongoing changes to CDS resource tools. Manage, prioritize and implement
application changes to OPUS and the Staffing Model.
Define, implement and track resource planning metrics including the CDS acquisition model.
Maintain effective working relationships with all CDS teams.

Working knowledge of Cognos, Access, Excel, Power
Point, and SQL Server

Must be willing to work overtime and/or off-shifts as required to support project work. May be asked to carry a pager for 24x7 availability in support of project efforts.

This position can work in Cleveland, Columbus, Miamisburg, Cincinnati or Indianpolis
