This position serves as the primary point of technical/operational contact during core system conversion; will build, coordinate and facilitate detailed test plans; will work with user departments and IS to develop a project plan/timeline for implementing new system. Qualified candidates will possess strong end-user operational background; min 5 years IT project management; min 3 years needs analysis; excellent communication/organizational skills. Previous conversion experience, project management certification, and Bachelor's degree in Business or related preferred. Familiarity with CU culture desirable. Position Summary: The primary function of this position is to allow the Credit Union to live out its rallying cry, "My service will positively impact the life of each member of our Fire Family." In addition, the Business Analyst will serve as the primary point of technical and operational contact for the core system conversion as well as end-user departments and management to ensure high-level quality service to internal and external LAFCU members. Position Specific Responsibilities: 1. Project Communication Serve as the primary point of contact for OSI core system conversion. Implement and utilize a web-based collaboration tool such as Microsoft SharePoint to manage all communication and project plans related to the conversion. In addition, train other team members in the use of the collaboration tool. 2. Service/Support Facilitate regularly scheduled status meetings with OSI, Next Step International, third party vendors, and LAFCU IS Management to assist in managing the conversion project; to review progress of outstanding issues, requests, and questions; and to ensure the Credit Union meets all of its obligations in delivering tasks and meeting milestones by their respective due dates. 3. Infrastructure Coordinate and facilitate training and test objectives and schedules. Build a detailed Test Plan (mainly includes scope of testing effort, objectives to be met, testing approach/process, and tools to be used ? such as test case samples). Create and maintain a detailed schedule of testing activities. Ensure all system components are comprehensively tested according to the Project Timeline. Ensure all test cases are documented correctly and comprehensively utilizing the approved templates. Prepare testing facilities and work with Information Services to establish the testing database with required security access. Coordinate acceptance testing activities including the execution of test cases and analysis of testing results against expected results. Help research and resolve testing issues and failed test cases. Obtain sign-off on successful tests to indicate that LAFCU's overall requirements and acceptance criteria have been met. Maintain a Test Case Tracking Report and Testing Issues Report. Participate in project status meetings and provide progress updates to Project Manager/Sponsor. 4. Reporting Analyze, track and report the business impact of the conversion to identify efficiencies gained and to ensure maximum end user utilization. Manage and drive to resolve post-conversion issues and produce monthly status reports for Strategic Meeting and IS management. 5. Special Projects/Other Assignments ? When working on other assignments to support the credit union's efforts to deliver value-added products/services to members, actively and respectfully participates on project teams, contributes specialized knowledge and resources to achieve the common objective. Based on project/assignment outcomes, ensures that all departments/individuals affected are informed. 6. Member Relations ? Using timely and respectful member service techniques, corresponds with all internal and external members by phone, in person, and in writing (including emails, instant messaging, meetings and voice mails) with accuracy, confidentiality and professionalism. Provides alternatives using available resources and offers assistance with a 'can-do' attitude and a willingness to go above and beyond whenever necessary to assist all members with their inquiries and concerns. 7. Research and Resolution ? Using all available resources ensures that thorough research and prompt follow-up results in an efficient, satisfactory conclusion to all internal and external requests. Through effective communication, corresponds with and holds vendors and other departments accountable for their role(s) during the research process. Corresponds regularly throughout the research process to relay the status and updates to ensure a timely resolution; and communicates appropriate actions, process/procedure changes to those affected by them for future reference. 8. Maintenance- User/System Handle day to day communications with the Core and third party Vendors regarding business and user system issues/questions pertaining to navigation, parameters, functionality, tools, reporting, etc. Facilitate regularly scheduled status meetings with the Core and third party Vendors' Client Care departments to track the status and progress of outstanding issues, requests, and questions. Update Leadership group on core system releases and enhancements, including potential for efficiency improvements, positive member impacts, ability to offer new products and services, etc. Help evaluate ancillary/optional modules offered by the Core Vendor to determine potential utilization and value to the Credit Union. Work with user departments and Information Services to help develop a project plan and timeline for implementing the new functionality. 9. Training- Walk-through content of the new releases with applicable user departments. To assist with these responsibilities the Business Analyst should leverage hard-copy/online Release Documentation provided by the Vendor, user group presentations conducted by the Vendor, and any Release Training (live or recorded) that may be offered by the Vendor. Position Qualifications: Excellent communicator and proactive, with the ability to comfortably and effectively work with all types of management and staff and to facilitate meetings and training sessions. Strong end-user operational background (experience with numerous departments is preferred). Minimum 5 years experience managing IT implementation projects, Minimum 3 years experience providing needs analysis, interaction with all levels of the organization and end user support. Consulting and/or management experience preferred. Project management experience and certification desirable. Excellent communication and organizational skills are required. Good understanding of typical core system environment and daily/nightly processes. Previous conversion or acceptance testing experience is a plus. Respectful of vendors but has the focus and people skills to receive timely responsiveness. Must enjoy working with various systems and researching issues. Detail and process oriented with a positive approach to change. Strong PC skills and willingness to learn new programs (such as MS-Project). Bachelor's degree in Business or related field preferred. Physical Demands: Eye/Hand Coordination: performing work using both hands. Handling: seizing, holding, grasping or otherwise working with both hands. Sitting: remaining in the normal seated position through out the workday. Walking: moving about on one's feet through out the workday.
