Overview:
Corporate Information Technology (IT) has an immediate opening for an Applications Analyst I or II, DOE. As an IT Application Analyst, the position will provide IT analysis and support for a variety of Food Group Simplot business functions.

Essential Functions:
The ideal candidate will have a broad range of IT and business experience with specific exposure in accounting, warehouse inventory or manufacturing.

Key responsibilities of an Applications Analyst include: Supports existing business applications and technologies; resolves technical/functional design issues and monitors progress of issues and outside resources to make sure that requirements and deadlines are met. Analyze user requests translating these requests into system and application delivery requirements and designs. Evaluates existing systems and develops system requirements based upon user needs, existing technical architecture, department goals, and company strategy. Assist in the development of IT solutions ensuring business objectives are met. Supports analysis of business practices to identify impact of improvement options. Prioritize and coordinate with other IT and business resources, as needed, to resolve complicated technical problems. Identifies known functional and design issues, including system analysis as well as communication with current users to evaluate current systems and required improvements. Establish and maintain a high level of communication, user trust and confidence in IT's knowledge of and concern for user's business needs. Coordinates activities with coworkers, vendors, and outsourcing firms to complete projects which cross functional lines. Provides communication, manuals, and user training whenever required.

This position may require 24 x 7 on-call support.

Skill/Experience Required:
B.S. or B.A. degree that demonstrates well-rounded business & technology academics plus in-depth technical skills are required.

A successful candidate will have a solid background in gathering requirements, writing specifications, and designing web-based solutions for internal customers.

Minimum of 3+ years of related business and/or functional experience in accounting, warehouse inventory, or manufacturing areas desired. The position requires excellent oral and written skills; as well as, facilitation and presentation skills.
